RAYSigns extension with Rayo Vallecano
Lejeune signed a contract extension with Rayo Vallecano through the end of the 2027-28 season, the club announced.
Analysis: Lejeune has been a key figure for the Franjirojos since joining ahead of the 2022-23 campaign, making 157 official appearances and contributing 11 goals during that stretch. The French center-back's extension is a significant piece of business for Rayo, securing one of their most experienced and reliable defensive presences for the coming years. His longevity and consistency at the club made the renewal a natural outcome for both parties.
Bags rare goal
Lejeune scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 3-3 draw versus Real Sociedad. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 97th minute.
Analysis: Lejeune would start the comeback for Rayo as they earned their eventual draw, scoring in the 84th minute. This is a rare goal for the defender, his first of the season after only two all of the last campaign. He also added one tackle won, four clearances and five interceptions in the defense despite his club letting up three goals.
Eligible after suspension
Lejeune is an option again following his one-game La Liga ban.
Analysis: Lejeune should have little trouble returning to a starting spot given that he's the team's defensive leader, averaging 6.2 clearances and 1.3 interceptions per game this season. His return will likely lead Pathe Ciss back to the bench going forward. In addition to his defensive potential, Lejeune is also occasionally reliable for shooting stats via direct free kicks, although he has yet to score in the 2025/26 campaign.
