Giorgio Scalvini
Exits early in Milan clash
Scalvini recorded one tackle (zero won), one clearance and two interceptions before departing Sunday's win over Atalanta at the 48th minute because of an ankle sprain, La Gazzetta dello Sport relayed.
Analysis: Scalvini picked up a small amount of stats in the back before being forced off after twisting his ankle early in the second half. His replacement, Odilon Kossounou, quickly bowed out because of a muscular problem and was substituted by Honest Ahanor. Marten De Roon could also fill in defensively if needed against Bologna next week.
Turns in good shift versus Genoa
Scalvini had four interceptions, four clearances and two shots (zero on target) and created one scoring chance in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Genoa.
Analysis: Scalvini got the job done in both phases as usual and racked up stats in the back, helping Atalanta secure their first clean sheet in four matches. He has logged at least one tackle in the last five games, totaling nine (four won) and posting six chances created, six shots (one on target) and 12 interceptions over that span, with one goal and one assist. Additionally, this marked his third straight performance with four or more clearances (13 total).
Sets up teammate against Cagliari
Scalvini assisted once to go with two crosses (one accurate), five clearances and four interceptions in Monday's 3-2 defeat to Cagliari.
Analysis: Scalvini had a strong performance in the back, even though his side allowed three goals, matching his season high in interceptions, and fed Gianluca Scamacca with a nice pass in the opposing box on the second goal. It's his first assist of the season. He has tallied two tackles in four games in a row, winning half of them, contributing to one clean sheet and adding eight interceptions, 12 clearances and five chances created over that span.
