Set for Flamengo
Paqueta has been given permission by West Ham to undergo a medical and transfer to Flamengo.
Analysis: West Ham had been beating around the bush the last couple weeks in terms of Paqueta's absences, and now it's officially confirmed. Paqueta maybe never truly lived up to his potential with the Hammers and had a potential move to Manchester City end because of his betting allegations. At 28 years old, he's set to return to Brazil where his career began in their youth system. He'll finish his West Ham career with 110 appearances and 16 goals.
Out another game
Paqueta (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's match against Sunderland, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "I think it's a situation all of us at the Club have to solve. We always want our best players to be involved, and Lucas is one of our best players, so let's try to solve the situation. My job is to get the best out of all the players."
Analysis: Paqueta is still not an option for the club as he deals with his undisclosed injury, marking a third straight game out for the midfielder. This remains a brutal loss for the club, as he is a typical starter, not missing a start all season when an option. There still remains some uncertainty around the midfielder's return, leaving his addition to the squad up in the air.
Not in squad Saturday
Paqueta (undisclosed) is ruled out for Saturday's clash against Tottenham.
Analysis: Paqueta misses the squad against Spurs on Saturday after continuing treatment two days before the match. That said, the injury was never formally announced which contributed to uncertainty surrounding his status. Transfer rumors also surrounded him this week and could be the reason of his absence.
Doubtful to face Spurs
Paqueta is doubtful for Saturday's match against Tottenham after missing their FA Cup win over QPR due to an undisclosed injury, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "Lucas is still on treatment. Let's see, we have a couple of days to go [until the match]."
Analysis: Paqueta is still in treatment two days ahead of their next match and seems to be unlikely to face Spurs, possibly missing a second straight game due to the injury. That said, his injury is yet to be announced, leaving his status a bit up in the air. However, he is involved in some transfer rumors, potentially another reason for his absence. He could be subjected to some testing ahead of the match to see if he can play, but appears more likely to be on the outside, with Freddie Potts or Soungoutou Magassa likely options to enter the starting XI in his place.
Starting against Forest
Pauqeta (back) is in the starting XI for Tuesday's match against Nottingham Forest.
Analysis: Paqueta was set for further assessment but is no longer injured and appears to be on the right side of the injury, as the attacker is an option from the starting XI immediately. The Brazilian has started in al 18 of his appearances this season while recording four goals and one assist.
Set for further assessment
Paqueta (back) is set for further assessment ahead of Tuesday's match against Nottingham Forest, according to manager Nuno Espirito Santo. "We have to assess both of them, JC and Lucas. They are trying hard to be involved after painful situations. We still have tomorrow (Tuesday) to see how they are and see if they can be involved in the squad."
Analysis: Paqueta was out over the weekend with some back issues and looks to be set for some testing ahead of their next contest, with that a potential decider to see if he can play. He is their lead midfielder when fit, so this is something to monitor for the club. If fit, he should earn a starting spot, with four goals and one assist in 17 appearances this campaign.
Out against Wolves
Paqueta is not in the squadfor Saturday's clash with the Wolves due to a reported back problem.
Analysis: Paqueta has been left out from the West Ham squad sheet in what appears to be a suspected back problem. This comes after scoring and assisting in 83 minutes played vs Brighton on New Year's Day. He has been replaced with Crysencio Summerville in the starting XI as more news on his condition is expected to be revealed after the match.
Goal and assist in draw
Paqueta subbed out in the 83rd minute of Tuesday's 2-2 draw versus Brighton. He scored one goal and assisted once from one shot and two chances created before exiting the match.
Analysis: Paqueta helped open the scoring by sending a through ball to Jarrod Bowen, who buried it from the center of the box in the 10th minute. Paqueta then converted a penalty to put his side 2-1 late in first half extra time. This marked the first time this season that he finished with more than one goal contribution in a game, and it was also his fifth straight game with at least one chance created, bringing him to nine chances created in that span.
Records shot from free kick
Paqueta generated one shot (one on goal) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Manchester City.
Analysis: Paqueta would be stuck in defensive duties for much of Saturday's match, but would still record a shot, firing a long-range free kick that was caught by the keeper. He remains with three goals this season, although he is yet to record an assist.
Clears suspension
Paqueta is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.
Analysis: Paqueta has served his one-match ban following his straight red card against Liverpool for dissent and is set to return in the next contest. The playmaker is an undisputed starter in the frontline for the Hammers and will claim back his role for Sunday's clash against Brighton.
Shown red card for dissent
Paqueta was shown two yellow cards and sent off in Sunday's 2-0 loss to Liverpool.
Analysis: Paqueta received one of the more avoidable red cards in some time Sunday, with the attacker receiving two yellow cards in a matter of seconds to earn a red card for dissent. This will leave the midfielder banned for their match against Manchester United on Thursday, returning to face Brighton on Dec. 7. That said, this will force a change, with Tomas Soucek, James Ward-Prowse or a returning Crysencio Summerville (undisclosed) as possible replacements while out.
Suspension cleared
Paqueta is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.
Analysis: Paqueta has served his suspension due to yellow cards accumulation in the Premier League and is set to return in the next contest. The midfielder is an undisputed starter for West Ham United in the midfield and should claim back that role on Sunday against Liverpool.
Picks up suspension
Paqueta is suspended for one match due to yellow card accumulation.
Analysis: Paqueta has suffered his fifth yellow card of the season and will hit the sidelines for a match, picking up a one-game ban due to his cautions. This will ban him from their next match on Nov. 22 against Bournemouth, returning to face Liverpool on Nov. 30. He is a starter, so this will force a change while he is out, with Soungoutou Magassa or Tomas Soucek as possible replacements.
Scores in Sunday's win
Paqueta scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Sunday's 3-1 win versus Newcastle United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 96th minute.
Analysis: Paqueta found the back of the net in the 35th minute Sunday with an outside-the-box strike assisted by Mateus Fernandes. It marked Paqueta's third goal of the season and his first since Aug. 31. He also recorded six crosses, his second most in a match this season, and one chance created on the attack. He completed the full 90 minutes in his fourth consecutive match.
Good service in loss
Paqueta generated one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus Arsenal. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 69th minute.
Analysis: The Brazilian international did a good job trying to get his teammates involved but could not find the connecting move to put West Ham on the board. He's likely to have better luck after the international break against Brentford, a team which has given up 12 goals in seven EPL games.
Three chances created in draw
Paqueta recorded one shot (zero on goal), seven crosses (three accurate) and five corners in Monday's 1-1 draw against Everton.
Analysis: Paqueta set a season high with three chances created in the match. He also accounted for at least one shot for a fifth consecutive game, but he has not landed one on target for three straight outings. Additionally, he set season highs with seven crosses and three accurate crosses. On the defensive side, he secured at least one tackle won for the fifth time in six appearances on the year.
Scores goal from spot
Paqueta scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest.
Analysis: Paqueta had West Ham's best first-half chance, a strike tipped over by Matz Sels, then calmly slotted a late penalty kick to secure the win for the Hammers. The spot kick followed Crysencio Summerville being tripped after a driving run. Paqueta also created two chances in open play and was central to the visitors' late surge, contributing in defense with two tackles, three clearances and two blocks. The Brazilian's celebration after his goal suggests he will remain at West Ham for the 2025/26 season.
