Alessandro Deiola
Unused sub in Udinese match
Deiola (thigh) didn't play in Saturday's 2-0 defeat against Cagliari.
Analysis: Deiola was healthy enough to be selected but not to see minutes, and the coach mostly made offensive-minded subs in this one. He could supplant Paul Mendy. Michael Folorunsho or Michel Adopo, depending on the team's posture, in the last two fixtures.
Makes squad for Udinese game
Deiola (thigh) has been called up for Saturday's tilt versus Udinese.
Analysis: Deiola was able to work with the rest of his teammates on the eve of the game and will be available despite leaving early last week, but his minutes might be watched closely. He has notched at least one shot in his last five displays (four starts), racking up 12 attempts (three on target) and adding one chance created and five tackles (three won) over that span. Paul Mendy or Ibrahim Sulemana could get the nod over him.
Diagnosed with mild injury
Deiola is nursing rectus femoris muscle fatigue in his right thigh, Cagliari announced.
Analysis: Deiola escaped without a strain or other significant injuries and is day-to-day ahead of Saturday's home game versus Udinese. Paul Mendy, Andrea Belotti or Ibrahim Sulemana could start in the next round if Deiola were unable to.
Leaves Bologna game in first half
Deiola recorded one shot (zero on goal) and committed one foul in 42 minutes before exiting Sunday's clash with Bologna due to a possible thigh problem, Sky Italy reported.
Analysis: Deiola had a goal disallowed early because of an offside and didn't do a lot before bowing out after receiving treatment because of a muscular issue late in the first half. He'll take tests before Saturday's home contest versus Bologna. Ibrahim Sulemana replaced him in this one.
